According to Statkom of Ukraine data, analyzed by Sugar.Ru, consumer price of sugar increased over the month by 5.66% in February 2021 and has made 23.13 UAH/kg (in previous month - 21.89 UAH/kg, in February 2020 - 14.14 UAH/kg). Russian rouble equivalent price (at the exchange rate of the Russian Central Bank for the middle of the reporting month) has increased over the month by 6.62% in February 2021 and has made 61.45 RUB/kg (in previous month - 57.63 RUB/kg, in February 2020 - 36.70 RUB/kg). USD equivalent price (at the exchange rate of the Russian Central Bank for the middle of the reporting month) has increased over the month by 6.41% in February 2021 and has made 0.831 USD/kg (in previous month - 0.781 USD/kg, in February 2020 - 0.578 USD/kg). 

On March 12, 2021, 6 sugar contracts were sold at NTB and BSP. The total volume of sales has made 1680 MT at the average price of RUR 46226/MT (US$628,93/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session closed at $638.1/MT (CFO), $632.66/MT (YFO).

По данным аналитической службы НО «Союз сахаропроизводителей России» в текущем производственном сезоне 2020/21 г. в России ожидается снижение объемов производства свекловичного сахара до минимального уровня за последние пять лет в 5,19 млн. тонн, что почти на 2,5 млн тонн ниже чем в сезоне 2019/20 г. Оптовые цены на сахар после минимальных семилетних значений в 2019/20 г. восстановились до уровня 2016 года. Впервые в рамках соглашения между производителями и товаропроводящими сетями в декабре 2020 года было введено «государственное регулирование» на рынке сахара.
